EPA Webinar for ANCSA Corporations: Proposed Financial Responsibility Requirements under CERCLA 108(b) (Hardrock Mining Industry)

EPA is hosting an informational webinar for Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act Corporation representatives to present an overview of the proposed financial responsibility requirements under CERCLA 108(b) for classes of facilities in the hardrock mining industry. We will cover the structure of the proposed rule and outline key background documents that accompany the rule. We also expect to discuss the public comment process on the proposed rule.

The deadline for submitting advance questions is January 6, 2017. EPA also expects to accept questions during the webinar.
Do not submit comments on the rule to their mailbox. The comment period will begin after publication of the proposed rule in the Federal Register. To ensure EPA considers them, comments on the proposed rule must be submitted in accordance with the instructions provided with the published version of the proposed rule in the Federal Register.

Announcing the Federal Registers Notices regarding the Census 2020 Advisory Committee (PDF documents below). This is a time sensitive matter. The Federal Registers Notice posted 12/20/2016 to announce the establishment of the committee and to solicit nominations for committee members. The Federal Registers Notice will remain open until January 19. During this time, nominations will be accepted for considerations by Census Director John Thompson and an executive review panel.
The Alaska Native Village Corporation Association (ANVCA) had a year with many successes, substantial expansion and several “firsts”. Below is a summary of actions and events for the organization in 2016. We encourage Members, Partners and friends to review the yearend report and stay engaged for 2017.
