ANVCA asks for Section 811 Repeal
The Alaska Native Village Corporation Association (ANVCA) will be advocating for a repeal of the Section 811 of the Fiscal Year 2010 (FY10) National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Section 811 places a limitation on sole source contracting to 8(a) companies. ANVCA supports a repeal for the benefit of our membership.
The result of Section 811 has been a loss of 8(a) sole source contracts to Alaska Native Corporations, our membership. ANVCA is working to join forces with our Alaska Delegation and other allies to advocate for the for 8(a) companies.
While ultimately the goal is to repeal of Section 811, our membership will benefit from legislative changes that mitigate the impacts felt by Village Corporations that lead towards repeal. ANVCA and our allies support a phased-in approach that can be accomplished this year.
