On behalf of Alaska Native Village Corporation Association (ANVCA), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Indian Energy (IE) and the Indian Country Energy & Infrastructure Working Group (ICEIWG) cordially invite Alaska Native Leaders to the Alaska Business Roundtable: Advancing Energy Investment in Native Communities on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., at NANA Corporation’s Corporate Headquarters (909 West 9th Avenue) in downtown Anchorage, Alaska. Alaska Native Corporation and Tribal Leader specific invitation. Industry leaders are invited for the second part of the day beginning with lunch at noon until 4:00 p.m. Industry specific invitation.
The Alaska Business Roundtable is the fourth session in the nationwide DOE Business Roundtable series of 2016. The goal of this invitation-only Business Roundtable session is to explore partnership opportunities for energy development between Alaska Native Regional Corporations, Alaska Native Village Corporations, private industry and others. The Roundtable will allow participants with a diverse range of expertise to identify the best opportunities and potential solutions for the greatest obstacles to energy investment and development in Alaska.
The results of the Roundtable will be reported to the Indian Country Energy and Infrastructure Working Group (ICEIWG). ICEIWG is a group of tribal leaders of Federally-recognized tribes, including Alaska Natives, established by DOE-IE to provide advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Energy with respect to nationally important energy programs and policies. The discussions will identify how DOE-IE can foster more effective working relationships among tribes in Indian country, industry and the Federal government. ICEIWG will use the information you provide in making its recommendations to the Secretary of Energy and other senior DOE officials to help shape energy policy for the benefit of both Alaska Natives and industry.
There is no fee to attend the Business Roundtable, but please register here by Monday, November 21, 2016. If you have questions about registration, please contact Meg Nicholas at (703) 203-4033 or Angie Lucas at (303) 856-1512.
