Village corporations in Interior Alaska are again making history and breaking trail. On October 20, 2016, during the Alaska Federation of Natives meeting in Fairbanks, four company managers will announce the formation of a jointly-owned and management limited liability company. Formed by the Native village corporations of Nenana, Minto, Manley, and Stevens Village, the consortium is to be named “Tene Hut’aane,” meaning “Trail People” (pronounced “TEN-ah Hut’-AN-nehn”), as the four villages are accessible by historical trails and the road system.
Looking to pool assets and talents, the new company is holding its organizational meeting on Alaska Day, October 18. The company will focus on government contracting and commercial ventures in Alaska and Outside. The forming members are the Toghotthele Corporation (Nenana), Dinyea Corporation (Stevens Village), Bean Ridge Corporation(Manley) and the Minto Development Corporation (a subsidiary of Seth-De-Ya-Ah).
The members are planning to host a reception to announce the formation of Tene Hut’aane LLC. Board members, officers, and management of Alaska Native Corporations are invited to attend. Please call Doug Isaacson, General Manager of Minto Development Corporation for more information and to RSVP. Phone: 907-374-0968 or email: MintoDevelopmentCorp@gci.net.
